GetTheData is a Q&A site where you can ask your data related questions, including, but not limited to, the following:
where to find data relating to a particular issue;
how to query Linked Data sources to get just the data set you require;
what tools to use to explore a data set in a visual way;
how to cleanse data or get it into a format you can work with using third party visualisation or analysis tools.
Datalift brings raw structured data coming from various formats (relational databases, CSV, XML, ...) to semantic data interlinked on the Web of Data.
Datalift is an experimental research project funded by the French national research agency. Its goal is to develop a platform to publish and interlink datasets on the Web of data. Datalift will both publish datasets coming from a network of partners and data providers and propose a set of tools for easing the datasets publication process.
The notion of allowing access to your website content and data via API's and other machine readable means is well embedded in geek circles.
This presentation aims to look at the non-technical reasons why these approaches are a good idea, arguing that it is time for Machine Readable Data (MRD) approaches to be better communicated to content owners, budget holders and other non-technical stakeholders.
