Abstract
Calculating the process driven value of RFID investments is very difficult. It is importantto understand the concrete contribution of an RFID system for the planning andconfiguration of individual processes, especially among supply chain stakeholders.However, profitability analyses in information system (IS) investments are problematicbecause they cannot be calculated as an economic standard investment. Hence, wepropose a reference model for referential RFID impacts. Our artefact supports thestructuring and evaluation of RFID benefits along business processes as we proposeindicators for the derivation of an individual RFID cause-and-effect-chain. Forevaluation, the model is applied in a Russian automotive project.
